Eric Farrell is Professor of Calcified Tissue Engineering and Regeneration at Erasmus MC. In 2012 he established his research group focused on bone tissue engineering. His research is focused on applying the process of endochondral ossification in regenerative medicine and has expanded his work to the development of in vitro and in vivo models of calcified tissues, including bone, the osteochondral unit and the atherosclerotic plaque. He leads large multinational projects with other academic and industrial partners, and has held several leadership roles within the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society TERMIS.
